Chilliwack Backyard Wedding

During the pandemic, wedding stories took a major turn and many vendors were scrambling to execute on couples dream weddings given the new way of doing things. Thankfully, wedding planners are magicians and they were able to change venues just days ahead of the celebration day. For this story, I was honoured to accompany an incredible photographer named Maiya and we showed up with the same excitement, ease and photographer’s backpacks. Needless to say, we clicked and I’m proud to call her my photography bestie these days. Check out her work linked below!

I’ve found wedding weather is always difficult to predict and this day was no exception! We started with cloudy skies and medium temperatures and then rain sprinkled throughout the getting ready before sunlight peaked through during the wedding party photos at the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve. Heading to the backyard for the ceremony, we were greeted by thunderstorms and a downpour that was broken up by a short window of sunshine as they said their vows. And then back to thunderstorms for the cocktail hour! It was an utter whirlwind of a day but W + C were absolute troopers and had a lovely celebration with their loved ones.
